Outland Sponsorship Program

Although this option may allow the sponsored person to travel to and from Canada during the application process, final approval for re-entry into Canada is ultimately at the discretion of Canadian immigration authorities.

The processing time for Inland applications is generally longer compared to the Outland program, but individuals sponsored through the Inland route may be eligible for an open work permit while their application is under review. If an interview is required, IRCC will notify the applicant in writing, specifying the date, time, location, and documents needed for their spouse visa application for Canada.
